The hospital, which is undergoing a large redevelopment, is the biggest provider of ophthalmology and ear, nose and throat services in Victoria. Staff treat about 250,000 people at the hospital each year.
The dedicated medical staff are experts in their field. And while our area of expertise is very different, our electricians are experts too – in the electrical industry. Using our experience, skills and knowledge, Alert Electrical successfully completed a data and communications upgrade at the hospital over the past month.
Our work involved supplying and installing:
- Forty four dual data point to the pharmacy and cashiers area;
- Fifty five dual data point to the Centre for Eye Research Australia area;
- Four umbilical cords
- And one data cabinet.
The major redevelopment taking place at the hospital in East Melbourne is set for completion in 2018. The extensive work includes partial demolition of some buildings and the creation of a brand new building featuring five levels that are fully integrated. A new emergency department opened in May.
